However, with the introduction of the new Vaal Orb mechanic, there is now a more efficient and reliable way to upgrade gem quality.
Vaal Orbs are powerful currency items that can be used to corrupt items, potentially granting them additional properties or modifiers. When used on a gem, a Vaal Orb has a chance to upgrade the gem’s quality by one level, up to a maximum of 20%. The chance of success is based on the gem’s current quality, with higher quality gems having a lower chance of being upgraded. Additionally, Vaal Orbs can also grant other beneficial effects to gems, such as increased experience gain or the ability to socket additional support gems.
